To many winter is bleak and staying inside means the feeling of cabin fever can set in rather quickly. For me I find the photo opportunities too enticing to remain indoors. Please enjoy some of my favorite winter pictures taken in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. These are from hikes, down skiing, snow shoeing, cross country skiing or simple walks in the woods.
The Pemigewasset River when partially frozen makes for a nice sunset reflection...Woodstock NH
Loon Mountain Ski resort...on a clear day you can see the 6,300 foot mount Washington 50 miles away, Lincoln
If I believed in UFO's I would see this alien cloud formation as proof of visitor to the White Mountains of NH.
The water moving through the Channel connecting Big Squam to Little Squam keep this section from freezing
Franconia Notch State Park is where I frequently hike, as well as ski the state owned Cannon Mountain ski area
Dog Sledding is a wonderful winter recreational activity...but the dogs do all the work, you are just a passenger
With all this beauty in the White Mountains you really have to get outside and enjoy the great winter activities. Try Zip lining, Cross Country skiing, Show shoeing, dog sledding, down hill skiing or a invigorating winter hike.
A picture is a poem without words...I hope you enjoyed mine.
