The Franconia Notch State Park offers a swimming lake, a fishing pond, several mountains over 4,000 feet in elevation, paved bike trails that becomes snowmobile trails in winter and Cannon Mountain Ski Area...the home to the oldest Tram - lift in America (also home to Olympic ski racer Bode Miller)
Echo Lake has a nice sandy beach with a bath house and boat rentals. Profile pond is most frequented by Fly fishermen and is stocked by the State of New Hampshire.
Also in the "Franconia Notch State Park" is the Governor Gallen Bridge which affords some excellent viewing throughout the year...there is never a bad a season to visit the state parks in New Hampshire.
