On one of my daily walks in the woods (with my trusting Canon in hand) I came upon this fallen birch tree.
Nothing unique about that really, but upon closer observation I noticed water had pooled in a large scar where a branch had once grown.
Birch Hollow is what we decided years ago would be the name of our LLC, and the land under our home. This may seem like vanity to some, but I always wanted to live on a property that had a name. So short of buying Tara from the movie Gone with the wind I settled for my own slice of the White Mountains. We have huge Birch trees galore all over our place and so Birch Hollow stuck.
I hope you enjoy some seasonal shots of the beautiful birch trees that seem to be the subject of many of my cameras natural focus.
Birch trees from all the seasons
Early Fall just a hint of color...on the white bark of the birch.
January Short days and the sunsets with it's last rays reaching out to the birch trees...in the Hollow.
Spring time has arrived in the White mountains, and the White Birch are green again.

August the river has gone back to but a trickle.
I would be happy to help you find your Tara, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
