May 10th photos from the Kancamagus scenic highway, Lincoln New Hampshire. May has arrived but not really in the White Mountains, they didn’t get the memo. It flurried enough to accumulate on one of the highest roads in Northern New England. There are some spectacular views and hikes along this stretch of National Forest, and no commercial structures for 35 miles. For more info about the Kanc

One of the many rest areas along the “KANC” , where you’ll find the story of this national scenic highway, and plaques with the surrounding mountain’s named for easy identification.
The Last riverfront subdivision of land, before becoming National Forest is a property we developed years ago. As you might have guessed the homes along the river and abutting 800,000 acres of preservation land…are stunning examples of mountain life.

Still a little snow in the roof valley's where the dormers shade the sun, on this quaint Adirondack style home.
Just five miles up the Kanc are views like this, and make sure you come back in the fall to see the foliage.

Hows this for a living room view, the water is high as the snow melts in the Pemigewasset river, which runs along the Kancamagus and in to the town of Lincoln New Hampshire. The Kanc is a great place to camp, swim, or sight see but if you want to stay a little longer...the homes on the river are pretty nice too.
