Awesome Foliage shots - White Mountain federal Forest land NH

The views are incredible this time of year...I took these photos today, and even by my (see it all the time) standards these are magnificent views. First: Franconia Notch State Park - Surrounded by White mountain National Forest. The State park is where the "Old Man of the Mountain " once showed his stone face, it is also the site of the state owned Cannon Mountain Ski Area (Flume Gorge - Echo Lake & a number of trail heads to various hikes).

The far left of the photo -mid frame is the stone cliffs where the Old Man once stood...the rest of the range is Lafayette, Lincoln, Little Haystack, Liberty and Mount Flume and part of the Appalachian trail. North view.

This shot into the sun lost some of it's vibrancy due to the south facing camera angle...But you are Looking at Loon Mountain's new South Peak Slopes (two new expert trails added for this season) from down below you are not able to see the actual peak of the South mountain summit...the trails and lifts go up beyond this first rise.

The Pemigewasset River provides a variety of recreational choices for locals and visitors alike, and today it was a fine photo opportunity to share with my readers. These three pictures represent what draws many people to the area...Hiking, Skiing and water sports. I hope you enjoyed my October Foliage photos today.

Start of the foliage season in the White Mountains of NH, get up here soon

We are not at full color in the North East yet...but it is coming. Here is my back yard down by the river, this low valley has a bit of foliage but the higher elevations will have much more. Sunday 9/19/10 current shot

Closer to the Franconia notch, the Kancamagus scenic highway and the 4,000+ foot elevation mountains in the White mountain National Forest, the cold nights have started the color change process sooner.

This picture was taken from a half acre home site I have listed for $100,000...more about this listings

Taken September 18, 2010  on Grandview Drive in Woodstock New Hampshire

This is a shot of rte 112, also know as the Kancamagus scenic highway, taken from a rest stop called Otter rocks. This time of year it makes for a great place to picnic (there are tables at the site). Other times of the year you can do more than just listen to the rushing stream. On many a hot summers day I find people swimming at this very spot. This site is about 5 miles from my office.

Company Banner I created above was taken from a shot off a riverside condominium listed $110,000

The top of Artist Bluff in the Franconia Notch state park...Echo lake and the slopes of Cannon mountain below this shot was taken on an early September day...but two weeks can make a big difference in the Foliage. Just a few glimpses of color first week in September.

This Shot was taken on the 4th of October last year at a stretch of the Pemigewasset river in Woodstock NH, although every foliage season is a bit different chances are two weeks from now we will be at or near peak colors. I have a golf course condominium a few hundred yards away from this spot listed at $164,900.

This is by far one of my favorite shots taken last year on September 22nd...the red maple is in full color while many of the trees surrounding it are not yet showing any color. But as I said before once it starts it goes really fast...taken at the Jack O'Lantern Golf course the bridge is a replica used to cross between the 17th and 18th hole and is a real bonus to enjoy at the end of your round. Woodstock New Hampshire.

There is a beautiful brook that comes out of the National Forest that empties in to the Pemi river, it is a hidden treasure located in Woodstock. If you would like to hike it or photograph it, you'll have to get a hold of me directly. The last time I posted pictures from this brook some of the locals gave me a hard time about giving away the secret. So I'll only tell if you reach out and ask me...It's in Woodstock NH and that is all I will post on this blog.
