Did it rain children...the rivers may look like fun but they can be deadly too.

Weird rain plagued us last night. The air felt tropical, which is strange this far up in New Hampshire. It poured and poured last night, I took this photo of the pond in my back yard this morning and the one below came from a recent shot before the rain moved in.

That is full one very full pond.

Water is up 6-7 feet since this morning

This is the average fall look of the pond.

I took this photo September 27th...three days ago...but it has rained 4 inches since then and we are expecting 4 more today....The picture below is the same location October 1st...9:15 am.

When the rain lets up there will be no evidence of the shore-line, the water will be up in to the roots of the trees along the banks of the Pemigewasset river. If I get the chance I will add a follow up shot Saturday morning of this same spot. As I was coming up the highway on my way to the office today I passed several cars with kayaks on the roof. This weather is supposed to clear and be sunny and in the upper 60's tomorrow, but unless you are a world class kayak-er you have no business in this river. There were huge trees down, when I paddled this section in the summer...you come up on them very fast, and if you get stuck in a tree the force of the water will pin you there...Please don't take your canoe or kayak out in this raging river.

...SAME DAY FOLLOW UP 4pm...

What little bit of rocky shore line you could see at 9 am...is all under water in this shot. 4pm
