There is an extremely easy hike over looking Squam Lake...many would say it's a walk that is slightly up hill. That
being the case it's well worth the trip for anyone of any age...and the view is spectacular at the top of Rattle Snake "mountain". Note: the out cropping of granite ledge that allows the view is a sheer drop on the lake side so if you do bring little ones keep a sharp eye on them...and establish some ground rules before you arrive at the summit. Take Route 113 in Holderness , you go by some magnificent horse farms and lake homes on this short stretch of road. Look for the Rockywold - Deephaven camp entrance on your right and go another 100 yards to the trail head parking lot. The trail is wonderfully maintained and a good pair of sneakers will do you just fine...for this easy stroll. When you reach the top you'll see the Dedication sign...set up to remind the public you carry out what you brought in and that the families who owned this land have shared it with you in hopes you'll be inspired today. With out further fan-fair...enjoy this view of the lake that inspired the making of the Movie "Golden Pond" and many artist to paint from this vista.

Rockywold -Deephaven cove below.

Looking due south into the sun...Big Squam - Church Island (booked for weddings) fore-ground

Watch for several big drop-offs it's a long way down...from many of the best viewing points.

MY beautiful wife enjoying a beautiful view....grab a friend and try Rattlesnake for a quick hike with a great view

Off to the east in the distance you can see Lake Winnipesaukee...10 miles away and clear sky's today.
