Woodstock New Hampshire - Bank owned- House preview.

White Mountain house featuring Rustic charm on a quiet road – over looking the river, close to the quaint village of Woodstock just a few minutes to three ski resorts and all the areas favorite local attractions.

Listing Price $159,900.  As is as seen with “some” furniture and fixtures to remain as a convenience to the seller. This property may be sold at anytime…this post is not a guarantee of current availability.

. While the bank cleans up a few loose ends, I’ve been able to photograph and research the rich history of this unique home’s many hidden treasures.

 .

The home has only been owned by two families in it 90+ year’s of existence. I can tell in its early life it was well cared for and lovingly shared with friends and family.

.

Businesses were tried on this spot, but a change in access and the creation of a state highway near by put a damper on this location as an enterprise. I found evidence of an antique dealership and art and pottery studio still exists in a detached structure on the property (kilns and materials suspended in time).

.

The Robust woodstove in the dinning room and Stone fireplace in the den tell the story of warm days in front of a roaring fire. Conversion to oil heat was completed much later as was the metal roof – which is perfect for the snow loads we get in these long White Mountain winters.

.

The addition of a three season screen porch harkens back to the days when this was a simple summer camp. The formal living room, oak floors and detached two car garage are not things we all find in new construction these days.

 .

I’ll be putting this home on the market prior to next weekend…and I’ll have to let the price remain a mystery for now, but for those that are intrigued I’m guessing they will be pleasantly surprised when I post the asking price.

I'll add the listing price to this post in a few days!!

Fabulous Foliage Friday followed by Flurries.

That's right we still have some fabulous foliage in the valley's but last nights snow fall at higher elevations definitely let us know the leave are going to be short lived. In Fact a Nor-Easter is on the Map for tomorrow night with predictions of 6 - 12 inches ...and it's still October. Ready or not here comes old-man winter...for now enjoy the views we got today after last night light dusting. Taken from Woodstock NH - of Franconia Notch state park NH.

Awesome Foliage shots - White Mountain federal Forest land NH

The views are incredible this time of year...I took these photos today, and even by my (see it all the time) standards these are magnificent views. First: Franconia Notch State Park - Surrounded by White mountain National Forest. The State park is where the "Old Man of the Mountain " once showed his stone face, it is also the site of the state owned Cannon Mountain Ski Area (Flume Gorge - Echo Lake & a number of trail heads to various hikes).

The far left of the photo -mid frame is the stone cliffs where the Old Man once stood...the rest of the range is Lafayette, Lincoln, Little Haystack, Liberty and Mount Flume and part of the Appalachian trail. North view.

This shot into the sun lost some of it's vibrancy due to the south facing camera angle...But you are Looking at Loon Mountain's new South Peak Slopes (two new expert trails added for this season) from down below you are not able to see the actual peak of the South mountain summit...the trails and lifts go up beyond this first rise.

The Pemigewasset River provides a variety of recreational choices for locals and visitors alike, and today it was a fine photo opportunity to share with my readers. These three pictures represent what draws many people to the area...Hiking, Skiing and water sports. I hope you enjoyed my October Foliage photos today.

10/10/11 Foliage - Franconia Notch State park - taken from Woodstock NH

I don't believe I have to say too much about this shot. I wish the pond I have been digging in my back yard for four years was done - but that is the only thing that could improve this foliage photo enjoy the colors of northern New England my friends. It should be pretty for another two week...then it will be on the ground, and raking begins.

The Woods and Water of Woodstock NH

This Cool Mountain stream brings on the fall foliage early...this spot gets very little daylight even in the peak of the Summer months.

This time of the year I just can't spend enough time in the woods. but as the days get shorter my treks tend to be closer to home. When I got out of work the other night I scrambled up this brook at the end of my property. It is a small blue line on a New Hampshire map - many would overlook the thread in the woods as a meaningless brook. To me it is paradise found. It is dark, mossy, shady and the water is frigid from a mountain pond source.

It can be a bit slippery out here, so you really have to watch your step.

The White water and mist from the churning dampness tends to cover everything along the shore with moss.

I promised the neighbors I would publish the name of this hidden treasure, but I'll be happy to walk it with you if you come by for a visit. Woodstock New Hampshire - walk in the woods.

For area Real Estate - use the MLS button on the bottom of this post to search all local listings, or call me and I'll be glad to help you find your own paradise in the White Mountains.

a soaking -to- a sunset in24 hours.

You would never believe how much water I had on Sunday - Compared to Monday.

The Pemigewasset river took over my pond and back field area.

Same two piles of dirt 24 hours later...Flood my home - but grant me beauty and all is forgiven.

The White Mountain have cleared after a foot of rain -from Hurricane Irene.

before and after the rain - of hurricane Irene.

While I put away lawn furniture and took down hammocks I snapped a few shots of a dry seasonal creek bed.

Saturday  1 O'clock.

Twenty four hours later the dry creek is filling the pond up rapidly.

over looking my small pond Saturday. About 12 feet deep in the middle.

We are about to over-flow the banks of the pond...over 20 feet deep right now and more rain on it's way.

This is the site where I took down my Hammock pre-storm...Relatively dry for August, more of a trickle.

The tree at the point where the "small inlet" breaks off the main branch of the river is about to come down, the root ball is three feet under water as of right now.

More shots Tomorrow after the storm has passed. Woodstock New Hampshire Pemigewasset River scenes.

Sunset - Sunrise 10 hours in the White Mountains of New Hampshire

Saturday night Sunset over the white Mountains of New Hampshire. It's taken years to open up the five acre field behind my home in Woodstock NH and install a one acre pond. The results of my efforts have given my this view.

Saturday Night Sundown - Mount Lafayette -Little Haystack and Lincoln.

Beautiful sunset last night 7:40 on an August night as summer is slipping away quickly.

One of my Cats decided I needed to be awake at 5:30 this morning, but when I saw the glow through my bedroom window I figured ...hell I'm up time for a sunrise shot or two. Also kick the cat for waking me (not really).

You can barely make out the pink reflection off the Pemigewasset river in the bottom left of the picture. The River is 600 feet from my house and makes for a nice back drop for my daily photos. Sunday 8/21/11 - 5:30 am.

Before I threw the cat out...I took this last shot at 5:35 Am. this morning.

Pink sky's in the morning sailors take warning is the old saying, the weatherman is calling for rain later today. So getting woken by a psycho- pet may have given me a glimpse of the best part of the day. Have a great Sunday all my friends, and if you ever need a hand with a real estate transaction - call the White Mountain Realtor who never sleeps.
