Summer is in full swing in the white mountains of New Hampshire

This river valley is so beautiful and wide it's hard to even see the folks down by the river frolicking in the water.

The water is low and calm in the summer along the stony shore of the Pemigewasset river.
This is the same location with 20 feet of ice piled up and a raging river taking trees down with the water.

prehistoric in feel, the wear of time has cut a serious chasm in the hard Granite ledge .The waterways have carved this deep cavern with 30 foot or more drops from the ledge to the water below. This site is about 2 miles from the intersection of Rte 3 and Rte 112...Lost river road...is The Kancamagus highway until it reaches the village of Woodstock New Hampshire...where it is renamed Lost River Road.
