Wordless Wednesday...A quick kayak, a stolen lunch and a day with my gal.

 My poor kayaks have been sitting on the wood pile since last Summer...but we hit the water today.

Visited by Raccoons.   Bandits!!

  A day on the river with my gal...reward for a hard paddle, the grape.

Life in the White Mountains of New Hampshire...I know a good Realtor who can find you a place on the river.

For the second day in a row I hit the links and hit the pond after I was done. In 90 Degree weather...you need a cool down plan. I promise no pictures of me in swimming trunks. But my son will add some action shots to the post. We have been working on a one acre water hazard in our yard...it is being put to use  this week.

 Conor was one of the top triple jumpers in the state and applies the training to our pond when it's this hot.

 The river is looking quite inviting as the temps hit 93.   Take me to the River!

   The White Mountains of New Hampshire is a cool place to spend your Summer, it will get down in to the mid 60's at night even when is hovers in the mid 90's during the day.

 Down at beach level on Echo Lake, even when it's this hot I can't stay in very long this water is so cold...there was snow on the trails just two months ago. We joke in the White mountains we have Spring , summer, fall and winter - But refer to them as Mud Season, Bug Season, Off season ans Ski season...this year Bug season has been replace by a legitimate "summer Heat-Wave". Cool off in one of the many rivers, lakes or ponds...slow down and have a cold drink, you'll live longer. Take your family to the beach and relax.

I came in for a rental showing, but promised my wife I would work on the Honey -Do-List. We all get use to our surroundings to the point that they fade in to the back ground. While showing a property yesterday I was heading up the highway...when my client said "Wow Look at this view", I replied "this is the exit ramp I take every day to go to work and I see this under all types of lighting and conditions each and every day".

Barely visible fence posts, are actually 4 ft tall..1/2 a mile from home.

Almost home..no need for bread crumbs.

No longer a clean slate..and a good work out as well.

Try a snow shoe, when you get ten feet of snow or more each year this is the way to see your surroundings. If you're lucky you may see many animal tracts, and no people tracts like I did today.

    The Fullness of life consists of light and shadow and the movement between the two.

White mountain Photos, national forest in New Hampshire. Getting to a place where you can see no man made structures is easy here. This overcast day provides beautiful shadow, light and great serenity.

Tomorrow's shot from the same place will appear totally different, and that is reason enough to stop again and look.

The only thing better than the food is the view, Be here early to get a seat near the Indian Leap Gorge. We were late and opted to wait till a view table opened up. There is a quaint screened in lounge area where you can wait to be seated, or as many first time visitors do, walk across the trestle bridge over the deep cavern formed by Lost River. The Northern Italy, fare is what the locals come for but visitors don't get to see this view from many restaurants in their home towns, I bet. If you are planning a trip to the White Mountains and don't mind going out to dinner early or waiting for a table This spot is worth it.

The Menu includes : Linguine, Lasagna, Manicotti, Tortellini, Shrimp Scampi, Veal Parmigiana, Eggplant Parmigiana, Nightly specials and a Children's Menu. For over 90 years the Govoni Family has had a reputation for excellent food , wonderful deserts, a nice wine menu, and a comfortable atmosphere. We ended up having more fun in the lounge while we waited for our table and made some new friends from Florida.
