Being a real estate professional is easy anyone can do it.

A Basic understanding of the following items…Will make being a Realtor easy and profitable for anyone wishing to work 60+ hours a week…or more.

Sales:  Getting paid to cultivate friendships…the easy & Fun Part!!

Real Estate sales: Helping families with their quality of life together, the why we enjoy doing this part!!

Time Commitment: All your waking moments…doing or think about it the it’s never totally out of your mind part of the profession!!

Physical requirement: No heavy lifting (unless you volunteer) the we live it 24/7 part of the job!!

Mental requirements: A broad knowledge of, federal, state and local laws, a keen knowledge of banking and financing procedures, an intimate understanding of contract law, a scientific thirst for chemical compounds making up the periodic table concerning the bonding of lead particle to wood, radon gas infiltration of enclosed spaces, and other airborne contaminants such as asbestos, and mold spores the my mind is crowded and my brain hurts part of our life!!

Other side line specialties can include: An intimate knowledge of the permitting process, including the contact and inner-workings of the EPA, DOT, Army Corp of Engineers, Department of environmental services, town planning and zoning requirements the you can only learn by doing part of the long and never ending process…of the job!!

Helpful credentials for the profession include: Electrical, structural, and civil engineering degrees, surveyors license, plumbers license, general contractors license, botanist, biologist, anthropologist, statistician, additional degrees in accounting, marketing, sales management , computer science, and psychology can be helpful as well the new challenge everyday part of your career!!

Who said this was easy?, it must be I’ve been doing it for 26 years!

If  recommendations of fields you should be very knowledgeable in sounds daunting...stick with your back up plan as a brain surgeon we must still need more of them.

ROFL ROFL ROFL!

When I was in prelicensing . . . there were laws we laughed at . . . such as 'who is in charge if the broker dies, becomes ill, or goes insane'

I understand now why the 'goes insane' is in there.

Candice...unfortunately the existing broker that is insane is still in charge...and more sane than the rest of us.

Steve - It looks like you've got a pretty good handle on this stuff.  ...afterall, it only takes a lifetime to figure this industry out.

It's very true - we just had a lender come talk to us about the new Truth in Lending requirements that are going to make our jobs even easier!!!! I mean now that that's in place, we'll be able to do our jobs in our sleep!

Kent...I left out a few things in the job requirement...roofer, trash collector, tour guide , reservation clerk, party planner, mover, landscaper, child care consultant, bus driver, locksmith, and food critic...but I'm sure there are still more.

Malita... I've been reading about those, this should be another way to streamline the process...and make it easier on everyone (Again Read Sarcasm here).
