Silent Sunday Scene...a quiet White Mountain Morning.
One of the highest roads in the North East allows traveler to go over Kancamagus pass between Lincoln New Hampshire and North Conway.
For a span of 32 miles you will see nothing but beautiful vistas and meandering rivers. No Gas, no Food, no nothing, but wilderness.
Many hiking trails , swimming holes and the occasional Moose...but no phone poles or hotels for close to an hour between towns.
Not a bad spot for a cup of coffee and a digital camera...good morning New England...the sun is up and so am I. If you ever travel to Loon Mountain in Lincoln New Hampshire take a drive up the "KANC", there are plenty of places to stop and turn around if you aren't going all the way to Conway NH.

Wow, I love it. What a great post with some wonderfull photos. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing. Wish we were there to share the views. Have a great weekend.
Now thats what I call cool and sitting here in florida at 89 degrees this afternoon it feels cool to.
Steve - Yes been on that drive a few times... Beautiful drive especially when you get to the top... Nice views. Looks like the leaves are turning already? Is that true?
Seattle could use some of those blue clear skies today!!
Bob...We are seeing a glimpse of fall color, and the sky's are a brilliant blue today. Got to love the Mountains it was 38 degrees this morning but should get near 80 this afternoon great sleeping weather.
Your photography skills rock!
Mel...it's the subject that makes the picture, I have a little Cannon power-shot cheep digital camera, but these views are nice no matter what you use to take them.
New England. Wow, that is on my list of places to vist when I grown up. Shoot I guess I'm grown up, better start traveling. Times going by fast. Beautiful pictures, keep them coming. Would love to see pictures when the leaves are turning in the fall. Have a great holiday weekend.
Steve -- that is a beautiful drive and I am overdue to visit the White Mountains... maybe when leaf peaping starts, I can make it up your way... Hope you are enjoying this great weather in NH.
Kim...I'll be sure to post some of the foliage photos as the leave change, look me up if you come east...I've spent a bit of time out in Park City, & Snow Bird, and love your area as well.
Thank Joan...word of advice don't come up on the 18-20th weekend it's the Highland Games at Loon and The Race track in Loudon has a nascar race the same weekend...so the highway will be awful.

Beautiful pictures, Steve! My husband and his friend have been planning a Kanc trip all Summer on their bikes. A little too ambitious for me to tag along. I've been there in a car many times, but the bike...not sure I'm ready for that.
Sharon... I like room service more than camping but day hikes are so beautiful off the Kanc I took the profile/pond picture close to the Lincolnwoods Forest service hut.
I have never bee to tthe New England states, and I can see that I am really missing out. For as long as I can remember I have thought I would love to visit New England in the fall. One of these days I am just going to have to do it!
Janna...consider this a standing invitation to Visit New Hampshire, thanks for the comment.

You didn't mention the Appalachian Trail so I assume it's not part of that? I used to hike that trail when I lived in Maryland.
Richard... The Appalachian trail does travel near here and through Lincoln NH where my office is, then on to Maine.
Just spending some time clicking through pics today and admiring the creative skills of some AR members. Nice picture. Have a great Sunday.
Hi Steve. No snow in those mountains yet? I'm sure it won't be long until they're white.
Aloha & best wishes
