Memory lane..high-chair to high-school...please bring your photos out.

It was time to clean up some old tattered boxes under the stairs...save or throw away? I found a box my mother had given to me

a few Christmases ago. Mostly school Photos but a few even earlier so long ago there were some in black and white. Yes kids we didn’t always have color cameras…but I’m glad there are scanners now. I will keep the photos, and put them away for safe keeping. I’ll share a few with my scanned for all to see from Baby to graduation. I’ll link this post to my Facebook account by an outside blog, and hope my old friends (who’ll I’ll see for my 30th high school reunion in May) will follow suit. I’ll be going back to Sudbury Massachusetts for a curtain call, reminiscing and maybe a round of golf.

Activerain Friends, Same goes for all of you, consider this assignment a reason to sort through those old boxes your mother gave to you. Let your children choose a few that you’ll post for us and pick a highchair to high school progression.

I realize living until I’m 96 is a long shot…so more than half of my time here has past. I have few regrets; one was working for minimum wages during my senior year in High School. I missed much of the social events that build adolescent memories; I haven’t kept in touch with my home town friends. My son is a High School Junior; I wouldn’t try to live vicariously through him. But I wouldn’t encourage him to save for College now by missing the times of his life. There is time enough to work, teach your children well and let them choose their own path.

Don’t think about our recession remember recess, don’t think about gas prices remember three friends with 6 bucks between you, could get you to the ocean and back on senior skip day.

Have fun with this I promise you will have a good time sorting through your old elementary school shots.

P.S. I’ll comment on your post I promise.

Senior Photo, So ready to get on with what lies ahead , so willing to forget the past. You can never really go home again but I look forward to reconnecting with old friends. Share your photos in my comment section I look forward to the big hair, and wide ties...they are making a come-back much like a 30th high school reunion.

Hi Steve,

Some great looking shots of a cute little guy who grew up! Who knew you had those sultry eyes behind those sun glasses! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I sorted through all my pictures about a decade ago when I got my first scanner. It was quite a lot of fun reminiscing.

Steve:

You were a good-looking kid then and you are a good-looking kid now.  I will look through some things to see what I can come up with.  Yes, they will probably be black-and-white.

jane through the years

I'd like to point out that the picture on the top left is what happens when you are the youngest of seven...left crying and freezing to death, this is exactly where my 'freezing feet'syndrome comes from.

Steve, I will just send you a few photo albums, as my Mom has started distributing all of these photos to us per her upcoming death in 13 years. She is 87, and I expect we will all live until we are 100...and driving our kids crazy as payback:) Thick genes.

Hey Steve...Who is that in all those Photo's?  LOL   I also worked, only at home on the farm.  I didn't have a lot of money, so I din't hve a lot of interaction with my peers.  But when i did, the memories never faded!

I shared some Photo's before, I will have to see if I can expand on it.

Jane...I was happy to be the only boy in the family, I never got hand-me-downs. My mother always told me she was going to live long enough to pay me back for the sleepless nights I caused her as a teen. Jane...I missed the dogs shooting pool picture on the wall...man I love that.

Steve - I have no photos to contribute.  Seriously, I only have pictures of me from about 25 years old and older.  Long story......  I wish I could share some.  I am amazed though at everyone who HAS shared including you - You all still look the same!!!!!

Tammy, You and me girl, Black & White in the early days, then "Mod" Colors as the late 60's - Early 70's rolled in.

Posted by Steve Loynd, Alpine Lakes Real Estate Inc., Loon Mt, NH. over 2 years ago

Oh yes, I have a rare couple of colored "baby" photos.  And believe it or not, but because my senior "prom" date opened a local pizza joint and I'd dug out my prom photo to show the girls at work what "tommy" of Tommy's Pizza looked like in school I had that photo at the office to scan and post... so here goes my senior prom!

I really don't know what I was thinking when I got a dress with orange flowers for my red headed date... oh well, I ended up hanging out with someone else at the after party anyway because my date got on my nerves.

Tammy...I think we spiked the punch and hung out by the front door, as we were all too hot in our three piece suits.

Nice pictures Steve, you haven't changed much at all!  I have a few albums of old picture on my Facebook page. Thank goodness for scanners!

I LOVE THIS POST!! Steve you look pretty much the same though the decades. All that blond hair. Your lucky you still have it

I wish I could post all of my pics in my shoe-box, but I'm going to share my favorite bathing suit picture. 1980, I was toned, tan and sporting a killer bod.... I know you are thinking where did you find the time to stay in such good shape?? Good question. It must have been all the breast feeding (I was the one doing the feeding), yes that's  me in the Gold 2-piece.
