Pond skimming on skis and other events at Loon Mt. and my day in the Mountains

A sure sign the ski season is coming to a close...is the wet and wild antics of pond skimming?

I believe this College Fraternity Brother was dared to go with the tighty whities last year ... or it could have been the beer  &  tequila companies that sponsored the party.

The weather should be great this weekend peaking near 80 degrees .Yes Pond Skimming on skis, there are 26 trails still open even after all that rain. I don't remember the last time this event didn't end up on a crappy day. Not this year Mid-70's and sunny for this wet activity should really make it a lot of fun. Loon news : www.loonmtn.com  Easter Events, Sunrise service , Pancake Breakfast, Egg Hunt, Saturday 10th Wear A throw back Ski suite Fluorescent is encouraged  Monday 12th Closing day, last turns of the season.

What a difference a few days make...massive floods, Followed by blue sky day. I had a bunch of trees down after all that rain and cleaned that up today. We have lived in this home for almost 6 years and we still haven't finished the landscaping. The best excuse has been this huge pond that I have been excavating for the last 3 year (and a year of permits). I always feel like my home and cobbler's children are a fair analogy. I have access to equipment but no time to operate it.

As part of my Architectural review Board position I visited a beautiful New Home slope side at Loon Mt today, I wish I could share a picture of the home but it's not for sale. The view of Mount Moosilauke is due west so I imagine the sun sets here will be wonderful.

That's a very amusing picture.  You really should have asked for captions on this one!

Val, the best time to pond skim is when you are wearing someone elses equipment, It has been a couple of years since I did it.

I feel ya on that whole cobber's children have no shoes thing.  I do keep my office grounds fairly well maintained, but by the time I get home running the lawn mower and weed eater is really just "as good as it gets"  I have so many plans and ideas.  I need to just take a week off and get a project done.

Tammy, I spend way more time helping others with their home than working on my own. It is a Realtor thing.

I'm think it was inspired by the beer and tequila companies!  What is it with tequila and lack of inhibitions?????  Sounds like an "interesting" event and just goes to show that there is something to do in ALL seasons in Loon Mt.!

Jan, This should be a lot of fun...and we just haven't had this type of weather for this event in years past.
