For the second day in a row I hit the links and hit the pond after I was done. In 90 Degree weather...you need a cool down plan. I promise no pictures of me in swimming trunks. But my son will add some action shots to the post. We have been working on a one acre water hazard in our yard...it is being put to use this week.

Running start push off

Long Jump Splash down
Conor was one of the top triple jumpers in the state and applies the training to our pond when it's this hot.

The river is looking quite inviting as the temps hit 93. Take me to the River!
Echo Lake: base of Cannon Mountain in the Franconia Notch state park...great view & Cool Mountain lake.
The White Mountains of New Hampshire is a cool place to spend your Summer, it will get down in to the mid 60's at night even when is hovers in the mid 90's during the day.
Down at beach level on Echo Lake, even when it's this hot I can't stay in very long this water is so cold...there was snow on the trails just two months ago. We joke in the White mountains we have Spring , summer, fall and winter - But refer to them as Mud Season, Bug Season, Off season ans Ski season...this year Bug season has been replace by a legitimate "summer Heat-Wave". Cool off in one of the many rivers, lakes or ponds...slow down and have a cold drink, you'll live longer. Take your family to the beach and relax.

Aside from having to pay the bills, how could you possibly muster up the energy to work when you have so many great play spots where you live? I really do have to get back up that way again.
It's so beautiful, so green! Love that shot with the great view!
Craig, When you are in resort real estate you have to make sure nature is providing a great time for your clients...I consider this the quality control part of my job.
Stephanie, Thank you this is the only photo I was allowed to be in...Top of Artist Bluff, great little view -and easy hike.
Steve - You are hotter than Northwest Florida now! We are only at 92. Stay, cool, my friend!
Steve.. These are fun shots of Conor... GREAT step by step analogy. What I like best about your blog is the *new* name of the seasons... bug, mud, off and ski. I will remember those.
Val, Working in the resort business we have a lot of down time between seasons...and a sense of humor is a requirement...when it's below zero for weeks, and rains for weeks...bring on the heat, what the heck?
Steve..good to see the pond getting some use. Makes it all worth while!
Bill, I guess the fish-stock will come next.
Very few things on this earth can top a New England summer. Very few. Great pics. I'm totally homesick for the view of Mt Washington from Rt 302 just west of Naples on the drive toward Brdgton, Maine.... I'd be almost home.
Charles, The trip between North Conway and Bridgeton on Rte 302 is a true slice of New England...farms, river and mountain views, mom & pop stores and the possibilty of encountering wildlife.
Great pics..yes it has been hot and humid...that water must have been refreshing...Thanks for sharing Jen
Steve, that is a great cool down plan. It got into the 100's around here, and sticky. Glad it is suppose to cool off a little by the end of the week.
I think I'l keep this post up all day just to keep me cool! 93 there? 102 here yesterday - I don't do well in the heat! I wilt and my temper gets a little unstable! ;) Stay cool, Steve and keep on posting the beauty in your area - hey, a girl can daydream!
Leesa, I'll save a chair, hammock, or beach towel for you when you are ready for a northern trip let me know.
Conor had a great idea. Right now, it's hot and I wish I had a pond or a kiddie pool even. UGH, just sitting in the A/C
