I lived in Holderness Throughout my Days as a student at Plymouth State University and enjoyed many lazy days of summer boating and climbing Rattlesnake Mountain Pictured above. The Science center is well worth the trip or a day on the lake is always fun, with a couple of public boat ramps near by and easily accessable.

Nice post. That is a nice part of the state for sure. I love the science center and have been there many times. I will always remember Squam Lake as being the site of the filming of one of my all time favorite movies with Henry & Jane Fonda "On Golden Pond."  Now I think I might have to try hiking the Rattlesnake Mountain - it looks gorgeous.  That's the tihng about New Hampshire - so many mountains so little time!

Steve:

This is a very nice local, informative post on Holderness and Haverhill. It gives a lot of good information about the area to anyone who may be thinking of relocating - or just visiting.

Leesa & Jay...the most famous thing to Happen to Holderness and Squam lake was the shooting of the Movie Golden Pond. I was a College student and nighttime bartender in those days, and Saw the Fonda's out to dinner in those days...Vodka Martinis if memories serve me correctly.

Great Lake Photo.  Looks very peaceful in these two smaller towns.  Much better atmosphere if you as me!
