I like to play with photos, but not this time these are untouched (other than cropped or a flash) they are as they appeared in nature. The first shot should be easy to tell what and where it was taken.

Easy...right Coral and a few obvious tropical fish, taken with my underwater camera (Barbados winter 2010).
Now the next picture should also be easy...see if you can guess?

The only hint I'll give you is this one required a flash to get the color and texture I was looking for...
Did you Guess?
Did you scroll down already to see the next shot?
Here is the reveal of what the heck the second picture actually was...ready?

Who guessed some kind of a strange mushroom growing out of a Tree?
The tropical fish and coral photo that precedes the Fungus can really trick you. I think most people would have guessed photo number two was also an underwater shot, in a deep dark place rather than on a tree in New Hampshire. The only thing I like better than a dive in Caribbean water is a walk in the woods in my own back yard.

The Fungus among us!!
Some of the agent I have come across in the real estate business have figured out how to bait and switch their photos too. They can make a piece of crap property look like a mansion...truth in advertising is my motto if I publish it, it is what you will see when you look at the property.

Those are some mighty nice seats for the squirels. Amazing what you can find in nature to take great pictures of.
Lizette...I find some pretty cool things when I walk in the woods, and I always have my little Canon power shot with me.
Steve ! Hand on heart, I promise, that as soon as I saw the second picture, I said "thats a tree mushroom!" I swear to you !
Reason being, I get them pop up. looking almost exactly like that, every summer, but they come up from the ground in my lawn. In my case, its from the 'roots' that were left from a tree that we removed, and they grow HUGE like in your photo.
The nice thing, is that you simply have to break them off at the base and they disappear - until next year !
... but they sure are an interesting growth !
Oh btw, the LAST photo, looks like Buttermilk Pancakes growing from that tree ! ... those I have NEVER seen !!!! lol
Sheldon...I believe you this must be an east coast thing, I'm betting the southern state don't get these Mushrooms.
Okay that is really trippy man. You totally freaked me out! lol... very strange indeed.
Great Photo of the fungi! I have seen that one before at my home, but never so high on the tree. Always a foot or less from the ground.
I got right, I got it right! But only because I had one in my own yard over the summer and took a photo of it. And yes, yours was prettier than mine, but I still knew what it was. :)
Steve - Shrooms man... lol yeah this is an east coast thing.. we're geting them around here in NJ as well now.. Must be that time of the year...
Greg, man my shrooms are bigger than your shrooms.
Bob, If I could get a $100/ ounce I could retire
I love the way you tied this all together! Especially the last line about the crap property looking like a mansion!
Sharon, thank you so much for picking up on that, The text that accompanies a photo can paint a picture of something very different from reality.
Steve, I was wondering where you were going with the pictures....now I see....how many times have I driven up to a property and wondered "are we at the right place" the pictures didn't show the neighbors house 2 feet from your bedroom window.......Agree with you....
Steve I guessed that it was a mushroom, but not one out of a tree :)
That is one huge fungi!!!
Jennifer, I really like to tell it like it is...go out and take the best photos you can and let them stand on their own.
Steve.. Like the first shot, I thought the second one was also taken underwater. Never thought it was a tree mushroom. Great shot... thanks for sharing.
Steve ~ I loved your truth in advertising line! I promise the same. What you see is what you will see! Loved the photos too.
Dawn, I love to post good photos If my pictures of a house suck I go back out and try again.
Great photos Steve, and I couldn't agree more on property photos! What you see in the photo and what's really there, sometimes are comletely different!
Laura, When I took this mushroom Photo I was thinking if I took the tree out of the background what would people think the "object" was...the close up with a flash totally changed the appearance of the Mushroom.
Hi Steve, you must have fun w/ an underwater camera. I did think it was a type of shoom only because I used dried ones in my floral arranging. It looks awfully pretty in the tree but it does look like it could have been taken in deep water.
Nice shots. At first glance I thought it would have been from underwater also.
You fooled me! That is some very impressive fungus you hve there in your neck of the woods!
Janna, This really looked like a foreign objected when I came across it in the woods.
