Moosilauke Brook and Lost River join just above Indian Leap - A/K/A Agassiz Basin, the rocks are decidedly
prehistoric in feel, the wear of time has cut a serious chasm in the hard Granite ledge .The waterways have carved this deep cavern with 30 foot or more drops from the ledge to the water below. Keep an eye on the little ones when you visit these smooth stones can be dangerous. This site is about 2 miles from the intersection of Rte 3 and Rte 112...Lost river road...is The Kancamagus highway until it reaches the village of Woodstock New Hampshire...where it is renamed Lost River Road.

The narrow chasm is not far across but what a drop....young braves were tested here , I used the bridge.

It would not be fun to fall from here...the view is worth the risk of visiting the edge for a picture.

Lost river road...pull in at the seasonal site of Govoni's restaurant for the best parking spot.

Steve, I have to tell you that your photo blogs make me want to move to NH!! ~ Susan
Steve...That second photo. I am surprised that there isn't a safty fence up there. It would ruin the look, but in today's overprotective society, It just surprised me.
Steve~ I was thinking the same thing was Susan above, but it got me thinking. How many homes have you sold because of these beautiful pictures? Ill bet quite a few. BTW, I think you missed your calling you should have been a photographer.
Bill...There is a caution enter at your own risk sign on the path to Indian Leap...and of course our state motto is "Live Free or Die"...we are one of the only states with no helmet law for motorcycles too.
Kim...photography is one of the hats...Realtor all wear, thanks for the compliment.
I just don't know how you can get any work done with surroundings as beautiful as you hav there in NH.
Steve... Beautiful! I remember as a child traveling through the New England states looking for all the old historical covered bridges...New England left quite a mark on me! Thanks for sharing such gorgeous photos!
Cheron
Craig...You sure got that right, there are days that looking out the window brings all the work to a stop
Again Steve you took my breath away with these pictures. People would be nuts not to take a gander at this area.
Kim...this spot is next to one of my favorite seasonal restaurants...I'm sorry it is only open in the summer.
Wow, Steve. I am learning all these great things about New Hampshire from you. I DO have to get there soon and check it out. Maybe you can be a tour guide! LOL
I don't think you could get me to even use the bridge! That first photo is spectacular, thanks Steve.
Barbara, I look forward to your call, lord knows we all get lots of practice playing tour guide in our business.
