The rule is fairways and greens when you're golfing...I get to see much more of the course than I should.

Along the course runs a set of rail road tracks the dinner train rolled by, the two story dinning car is pretty darn cool. But it is a bit distracting when you are trying to chip...it only comes by at night (7 pm - for dinner service) google Cafe Lafayette diner train for reservations.

Covered bridge on the course is a nice bit of New England nostalgia, and a nice photo op.

This great blue Heron watched my approach with some interest. I'm not sure if they are a protected species...but this one was lucky enough to avoid a wayward tee shot. I did break 70 tonight, and will try the back nine the next time I get a chance to play again.
*I have a three bedroom condo listed on this golf course (1,650 Sq. Ft) 6 miles from Loon Mt for $165,000.
I spend way more time selling real estate than I do playing golf, but that will be obvious if you get out with me for a round.

Steve...
Looks like you were too distracted by all of the cool things going on around you. I would have been too!
Steve,
That is quite the scene for dinner. Looks like a nice relaxing way for people new to the area to learn about it.
I think if I got out for a round with you I'd think you played like Tiger Woods. My little brother sent me back to the car on the third hole.
I have been a bit distracted lately but a buddy took me out golfing and it was a nice walk and a lot of laughs.
I have a blue heron that is in my creek out back. I see him about once a year. He eats the little snakes. YUM! UGH!
Lizette, these guys lot a bit prehistoric and uncoordinated...until they take off - and fly.
Steve, I am hooked on seeing wildlife and perhaps the birds are most interesting to me. At Beaver, Arkansas there is a rookery, a nesting ground for Heron. They are quite beautiful.
Our scores are about even Steve and I don't have nearly the distractions. Well, an occasional Blue Heron does saunter by. I'm considering some lessons!
Steve, OK let me see if I got this right. You shot a 70 for 9 holes????
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I have not picked up a club in over 30 years, and I think I could do a tad bit better than that .......... LOL
Steve. I usuallyu play 2 or 3 freeways at a time.
Suprising hwo we pay so much to play andthen try not to play any more shots than we have to.
Steve, you had me for a second with that "breaking 70" and spending more time selling real estate...
I like the idea of the Cafe Lafayette dinner train...sounds like a nice day or evening. I used to take the train from Kansas City to Chicago when I was younger...something very cool about that.
I actually played today and shot a 77 for 18...the windmill gave me a hard time but other wise a good score.
