You would never believe how much water I had on Sunday - Compared to Monday.
The Pemigewasset river took over my pond and back field area.

Same two piles of dirt 24 hours later...Flood my home - but grant me beauty and all is forgiven.

The White Mountain have cleared after a foot of rain -from Hurricane Irene.

I figure the river came up 20 feet in about three hour yesterday...and disappeared over night.
I'm glad it is gone, hope you have power and can pump out the basement and don't have too much damage.
Tammy, the basement is a loss, and there is stuff gone for good down the river...but I love this place and I'll get it fixed.

Now that is a great line my friend!!!
Gerry, it was crazy...the surge took 5 cords of wood, picnic tables, farm equipment and many other things of monetary value...but gave me this sunset the next night. Mother nature is fickle.
You have a great attitude, something I have to work on. I wouldn't be taking it so lightly, LOL!
Steve...
Wow, that was a LOT of water in a short period of time. One good thing about the mountains is that the flood waters flow away quickly, and that is a blessing. Great photos.
Steve Glad you are okay. It's amazing the wrath of Mother Nature and then the beauty she leaves behind.
Sharon, Richard & Dawn, thanks for dropping by and giving me your well wishes...I can rebuild what was lost, and no one was hurt that is the important thing.
Steve glad to here that the water is going down.
The second and third pictures above are gorgeous.
George, it is depressing to see so much you worked for rolling down the river...But I'm fine and will take care of the issues as time goes by.
I'm sorry you are having to deal with this! I know far too many people who have suffered due to the weather this year. Glad you are okay though, stuff can be replaced.
thanks Ann I know you are right but it's little conciliation while I'm deep in the doo doo.
Hi Steve,
Yikes. You really took a beating up there. We had wind, but only about two inches of rain. What a beautiful apology the sky sent you.
John...We got 11 inches, and 14 on the Kanc highway...that all comes my way.
you certainly have the beauty!! that last photo is stunning!.. Hope the flooding wasn't too bad and glad you are ok overall.
Sheila, I made it through the storm but the clean up is going to take some time.
