This Cool Mountain stream brings on the fall foliage early...this spot gets very little daylight even in the peak of the Summer months.

This time of the year I just can't spend enough time in the woods. but as the days get shorter my treks tend to be closer to home. When I got out of work the other night I scrambled up this brook at the end of my property. It is a small blue line on a New Hampshire map - many would overlook the thread in the woods as a meaningless brook. To me it is paradise found. It is dark, mossy, shady and the water is frigid from a mountain pond source.

It can be a bit slippery out here, so you really have to watch your step.

The White water and mist from the churning dampness tends to cover everything along the shore with moss.

I promised the neighbors I would publish the name of this hidden treasure, but I'll be happy to walk it with you if you come by for a visit. Woodstock New Hampshire - walk in the woods.

Steve-beautiful photos and I can see why your neighbors don't want you to name your secret location.
Cindy...If you ever make it up north I'll show just where this is :O)
Steve, Those are great photos! That is really a beautiful area!
Good evening, Steve. Hard to think about fall being just around the corner. Neat photos...
Steve that is a beautiful spot. I can't believe that those leaves are turning already. I am not ready for Fall yet :)
You're smart Steve to keep that your secret little spot! Very pretty!
Not to worry All...there will be another month before foliage is at it's peak...but anytime from Mid-September until late October - the White Mountains will be ablaze with color.
