The views are incredible this time of year...I took these photos today, and even by my (see it all the time) standards these are magnificent views. First: Franconia Notch State Park - Surrounded by White mountain National Forest. The State park is where the "Old Man of the Mountain " once showed his stone face, it is also the site of the state owned Cannon Mountain Ski Area (Flume Gorge - Echo Lake & a number of trail heads to various hikes).

The far left of the photo -mid frame is the stone cliffs where the Old Man once stood...the rest of the range is Lafayette, Lincoln, Little Haystack, Liberty and Mount Flume and part of the Appalachian trail. North view.

This shot into the sun lost some of it's vibrancy due to the south facing camera angle...But you are Looking at Loon Mountain's new South Peak Slopes (two new expert trails added for this season) from down below you are not able to see the actual peak of the South mountain summit...the trails and lifts go up beyond this first rise.

The Pemigewasset River provides a variety of recreational choices for locals and visitors alike, and today it was a fine photo opportunity to share with my readers. These three pictures represent what draws many people to the area...Hiking, Skiing and water sports. I hope you enjoyed my October Foliage photos today.

Too many nice pictures not to share one more...hope you enjoyed them as much as I enjoy taking them.
Hi Steve, you're photos are simply stunning! I've only been to New Hampshire once...a looong time ago when I was probably 18..but remember it being just gorgeous. Your pictures prove this to be true.
Hi Steve, As a Michigan transplant your terrific foliage shots bring back of lot of great memories for me ! Gotta love it !
wow.... what a show outside your living room window.
It is not bad at all, We usually get our first snow fall by the end of October...so we really have to enjoy the foliage while it's here.
Alan...the Above pictures were taken a few miles from my house...but I took this one from my kitchen window today.
incredible.
when are you gonna "finish" off your pond?
Alan...don't ask? My contractor only takes material when he needs it...was going great till the construction slow down.
Steve
What great scenic views , I don't need to take the weeken jaunt through Skyline Drive thanks to you
You ALWAYS have amazing shots, Steve! I am so jealous of the beauty that surrounds you but I am very happy that you always take the time to share it with all of us. You da bomb, baby! ;)
Thanks Leesa...love you too. I'll keep the photos coming.
Ok, ok, YOU WIN! Absolutely MAGNIFICENT! We had a VERY early snow this past week, and I thought it would kill off the autumn. But it lasted about 10 hours, and then we are back to our Indian Summer. Colors are still gorgeous, but not anything like this. GOOD JOB!!
Mimi, I'll have to pop over and see what your photos look like .
I have been taking hundreds (thousands?). Don't have many of them posted lately. I'll send you a link when I put one up. In the meantime, we just don't have the 'diversity' of color that you seem to.
