What's Brown and on the Ground? Foliage after first frost

New England has dodged a few close calls so far this season... the Hurricanes missed the North East, and despite the lack of rain we still managed to have a vibrant fall foliage season.first frost

But today was the first frost on the higher peaks, and that means the end of foliage season is near.

nh heart tree

Every Season I take photos of this heart shaped tree...so I know when the colors have hit there Peak. Sad to say this beautiful tree will be sticks and stems shortly (route 112, Lincoln NH)

South Peak on Loon Mt ski area

Since this is a real estate Blog...I'll tie in a few of the properties we list in Lincoln NH. This is the South Peak Resort, offering slope side ski to your door access at Loon Mountain.

the Pines at Forest Ridge

The Pines at Forest Ridge New Construction condo project also in Lincoln NH...open house this weekend and once a month throughout the year...please feel free to drop by or call to see.

first snow

The higher peaks over 5,000 feet get the first snow, and then the colorful leave turn brown then fall to the ground. If you wish to see the last of the foliage, do it soon. That is a gorgeous shot.  We are in that brown phase right now waiting for the first snowfall.

Not big on cold weather but the Fall season in New England is just the best. In Oklahoma we rarely have this kind of color change. It goes green to really brown.

Belinda... We don't like the brown stage, but that does signal snow is up next and the ski resorts come to life.

Joe... We have to look forward to each season, in New England we never get bored.

Bill... it sad when the foliage goes, but I remind myself that - the folks that live in the northern states get to have more than one season to enjoy.
