Don't reply to my ad by trying to sell me a better way to advertise.

Here are but Three of the 258 emails I got Yesterday:

From; CraigsList / Subject: Posting Reply  Could it be an answer to my ad in CraigsList? No it is a cash gifting program that will "crush the competition".

From: a nameless Short Sales co. / Subject : Important Certification Changes  Could it be one of the BPO companies I work for on opinion of values?, No it's a Company that will sell me an authentic certificate that says I'm a short sales expert - and If I hang it on my walls, like magic the money will roll in.

From : Real Estate Sale Etc.. / Subject: I saw your classified Ad  Could it be the print media is still working and someone wants to see a property I'm featuring? No apparently there is some deep dark secret that these folks are willing to share with me for a boat load of cash, to tell me how I can improve my market share.

If you are not really answering the ad I wrote, or paid to be in the news paper, please stop telling me how to make more money. I know how if you were emailing me with a genuine interest in what I am offering I would be making more money right now. Instead of reading your stupid come on designed to look like you are answering my ad.

Oh yes, I couldn't agree more!  I am a little tired of all of the junk responses I get from my Craig's List posts for my listings as well.  Too bad I can't really complain about the free advertising, but I wish there was a way to get rid of these people.

Sincerely,

Kathleen

Craig's list is for the birds anymore. If it's not someone trying to sell you something (because they saw your ad), it's someone trying to scam you. Sites that don't require authenticaiton should be banned.

Tres true!    I get more responses from people trying to get me to place ads in their spaces, than from real people responding.

Kathleen, Bill & Li,  So I'm not the only one who get the cleverly written emails so you have to open them . I am constantly concerned that I will delete a real response, but it's always junk.

Steve.. First let me say WOW, 258 emails!!!  I couldn't agree with you more.. this post is similar to my blog yesterday of dearest beloved friend.  Why do people waste our time?  This should some how be blocked.

Valerie If you could charge on a pay per click to respond to an email you would only do it if the product was of interest. I can black list the email address, but it takes extra steps to do that and it's just a likely you will get the same email the next day from a different sending address. It's just too bad. Steve

It is interesting the amount of junk that Realtors get from our marketing efforts, good points!

Wow, I thought that I got a lot of e-mail... I do have to agree with you that I just get way too much spam... Thankfully there is a delete button that still works on my keyboard...

Michael, the delete button works fine my issue is the extra step we are forced to take to review email that appears as a real response - this drives me crazy. Steve

Will, If they had to read hundreds of emails in between accomplishing their jobs maybe people would waste your time, ya know? Steve
